PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) rebuilt its Alvey-Fairview 230-kilovolt Transmission Line between Eugene and Coquille, Oregon. To understand the potential environmental impacts of this proposal, BPA prepared an environmental assessment (EA). Two alternatives were studied in the EA: to rebuild the line or to not rebuild the line, and continue on with current operation and maintenance practices. The EA described anticipated impacts to natural and human resources and included mitigation measures that will help avoid or minimize impacts.

CURRENT STATUS

BPA issued the final EA and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the project in 2014 and decided to proceed with the Proposed Action. Project construction began in June 2014 and was completed in December 2015.
