Transmission Line Reintegration

In the late 1960s, the Sammamish-Maple Valley and Monroe-Novelty Hill transmission lines were leased out for 50 years. That lease ended in August of 2018. Reintegrating those lines has been a multi-year project that included repairs, minor upgrades, and vegetation management work.

The initial phases of line reintegration are complete and moving into the standard line maintenance and upgrade life cycle. Transmission line access, continued vegetation and line maintenance, and upgrades are part of keeping our region's electric grid safe, cost effective and adequate in moving some of the nation's cleanest energy across our beautiful region.

Sammamish-Maple Valley Line

Safe and Timely access to Towers, Lines and Equipment projects.

The current phase of work includes installation of new conductor and hardware on 16 structures and fall protection on 42 structures as well as perform access road construction and improvements.

These access road improvements enable safe and timely access to transmission lines and equipment for inspections as well as scheduled and emergency repairs. This helps "keep the lights on" for communities across the region.

Work is expected from 07/25/2025 To 12/30/2025.
