BPA is hosting a collaborative discussion with generators concerning how to make the New Generation Technology Pilot maximally beneficial for the region, generators and BPA. BPA will first discuss the general structure of the preliminary pilot design before opening the discussion for generators to bring their own ideas to the table for discussion and potential inclusion in the pilot. The pilot is to be a means for generators to lower their need for balancing capacity from the BPA BA thereby lowering their VERBS/DERBS rate and lowering the amount of balancing reserve capacity BPA needs to hold.
