Applications Open May 1 for Fiscal Year 2026 Direct Fund Distribution

The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) Energy Conservation Program will accept applications for the fiscal year 2026 Direct Fund Distribution Program beginning May 1, 2026. The funding opportunity supports cost-effective energy conservation projects across the region, with preference given to small and rural utilities. Applications must be submitted by May 31, 2026.

BPA Webinar: Comfort Ready Home Evaluation

Join BPA’s evaluation team on Thursday, May 21 from 10-11 a.m. (PDT) to hear about the results of a recently completed process evaluation of the Comfort Ready Home (CRH) program. This webinar is intended for utilities and other stakeholders interested in learning about BPA’s CRH program evaluation. BPA will share the full report ahead of the webinar. 

The study included a program data review and interviews with utilities, program staff, contractors, and end-use residential customers. The evaluation team will present findings from the Greener Water Heater promotion, which incentivized heat pump water heater installations. They will also share customer journey insights from the end-use customer interviews and recommendations for BPA's CRH program to further engage regional utilities and contractors...More


Market Research Updates at Bonneville

In lieu of the Market Research Quarterly call this month, the Market Research and Momentum Savings team prepared a brief overview of upcoming research for interested stakeholders. This Spring, the team is working on the launch of an HVAC installer survey which will gather data on heat pump configurations and more. The team is also designing a Delphi Panel for adjustable speed drive (ASD) research. In this task, a panel of ASD experts will provide input to validate and refine BPA’s current estimates for ASD stock saturation and annual ASD market size in the Northwest.
